Australien: Die Stadt Darwin

Darwin weit im Norden Australiens, so weit, dass das Klima vom Monsun beeinsflusst ist. Jahreszeiten sind hier nicht Winter und Sommer, sondern Trocken- und Regenzeit. Auf Australisch werden diese als "the Dry" und "the Wet" abgekürzt (das Wort "season" wird einfach weggelassen). Die Regenzeit kommt nicht plötzlich. Sie beginnt mit abendlichen Gewitterwolken, welche von Tag zu Tag stärker werden. Der Aufbau der Regenzeit wird als "Build up" bezeichnet.

Darwin ist eine lebendige Stadt und Ausgangspunkt für viele Touren.
